Normally I wouldn’t just post a simple update like this, but Interactive Voice Call Master by Mobisophy is one of the several apps that I just couldn’t live without on my N80IE. Version 2.0 has brought on some great updates and some much-needed changes so I wanted to make a quick post about it. For those who have not tried it, IVCM is the most feature-rich call management utility currently available for S60 3rd devices. I am constantly switching between IVCM and Advanced Call Manager by Webgate. Each app has a variety of features that set it part from the other and both are well worth looking into. The basic idea of a call manager though, is to handle your incoming calls in accordance with lists, time-schedules, etc. To better explain, here is one example of how I use IVCM on a daily basis: I use the automatic scheduling feature within IVCM. So from 7am - 10:59pm each day, IVCM is set to “not handle” (accept all) calls. Then every night from 11pm - 6:59am, IVCM will only allow incoming calls from a number on my “white list” (family, close friends, etc). If I receive a call from any mobile number in my contact list that isn’t in my white list, the call is rejected and IVCM automatically sends them an SMS from a template that I created. Any call from a number that isn’t on either of those lists will be auto-muted by IVCM and will go to voicemail. Pretty cool! I’m not sure if there is a complete change log floating around somewhere for IVCM version 2.0, but here are some of the more important changes that I’ve noticed since I upgraded from 1.5x: RAM Consumption - Whereas the old version of IVCM chewed on about 1.2MB of my precious RAM, IVCM nibbles on a much more reasonable 205Kb. Graphics - My high-resolution display absolutely despises bitmap icons and I’m glad that Mobisophy figured that out! IVCM now uses only SVG graphics within the UI. No-Beep Recording & Adjustable Playback Volume - IVCM now supports no-beep call recording and no-beep voice message recording. You can also adjust playback volume from within the app rather than having to rely on the volume setting within your active profile. I |
