Muscle pain also called Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) and refers to pain and inflammation that occurs in the soft tissues of the human body. Muscle pain can be chronic and primarily affects the connective tissue that covers the muscles, called the fascia. MPS generally occurs after an injury to the muscle and may involve either a single muscle or a muscle group. There are cases however, of spontaneous muscle pain with little to no known cause. In other instances, muscle pain can be located well away from the site of strain or injury. This is called referred pain.
What are the symptoms of Muscle Pain?
The symptoms of muscle pain are pretty straightforward and normally follow bruising, strain or injury in the afflicted area.
The symptoms include, but are not limited to:
Limited range of motion in the joints
Muscle weakness, displayed by the inability to hold on to things
Migraine or headache and interrupted sleep patterns
Blurry or doubled vision
Unexplained nausea, dizziness, and sweating
One of the more common symptoms is pain, twitching and tenderness in the muscle groups when stress is put on it or it is touched. These are called trigger points, which are located in areas of extreme tenderness and sensitivity. They are similar to the tender points caused by fibromyalgia; only trigger points can be felt beneath the skin.
What Causes Muscle Pain?
There are several, well known causes for Muscle Pain, the top being Muscle and skeletal problems, chronic fibromyalgia pain, and depression associated with fibromyalgia. Some 30 % of patients who have fibromyalgia, a muscle disorder that produces pain, suffer from depression. The depression causes a shift in serotonin levels, which can manifest as physical pain. Fibromyalgia can also cause muscle pain due to individuals compensating for the pain of the disorder by adjusting their posture in unhealthy ways, which can lead to trigger points. In general, muscle pain is caused by trauma to the affected muscle or skeletal areas. Over stressing the muscles can also contribute to MPS. Constant exposure to cold weather may increase the risks of chronic muscle pain as well.
Will Painwave X4000 Help with Muscle pain?
Definitely! The Painwave X4000 is an ingeniously designed non-invasive, drug-free tool that can provide relief from muscle pain. Unlike OTC painkillers or patches, the Painwave X 4000 doesn't ‘block’ pain signals to the brain, instead it works in concert with the body’s own bioelectromagnetic ecosystem. The PainWave X4000 system displays no side effects, and is a breeze to use. Simply move the unit over the surface of the skin in a small circular motion to get instant results. In time, the Painwave X4000 may improve circulation, cell activity and lymphatic movements, which will aid in eliminating muscle pain. With prolonged use, this stimulation will greatly reduce pain, possibly eradicating it for good.
