I think that most of the poker games are harder to learn to play well than Speed Hold'em. However, keep in mind that the more hard a particular poker game is to learn, the more profitable it is to the poker player who has mastered it.
Sometimes these short smoking sessions with our colleagues while working in office are a handy one. Today I came up with the terms in Poker like difference between Sets and Three of a Kind, then Pigeon traps, Speed Traps, Fish traps and Net traps.
Lets start with the difference between Sets and Three of a Kind. A “Three of a Kind” is two matching poker cards on the board and a third in the player's hand. A “Set” can also be referred as three of a kind composed of a pocket pair in the player’s hand and one poker card of matching rank on the board.
The Traps include Pigeon traps, Speed Traps, Fish traps, and Net traps, which are also called 1) Net traps, 2) Mixed traps, and 3) Dirty traps. Net Traps. To find out what’s in the water, fisherman may just cast a net. Some poker players will cast nets when they don't know for sure what kind of players they are playing on the poker table. This is done by semi-bluffing and checking the current poker table situation to see who will call and who will fold in the poker game. They hope to catch second best poker hands in the net. That's why the semi-bluffs have strong possibilities of improving. Net fishing is a passive way to catch fish. Quite often lure is used. So after the net is casted, later the outcome is more accidental than planned.
Mixed Traps. A variety of mixed traps include loose drawing traps, and small pair traps. There's also being trapped by the board and by the blinds. Mixed traps can also include "good poker card traps" as well as "bad player traps." And, finally, you can be trapped by your own greed.
While playing online poker, I have seen after the flop, lot of them will trap themselves by failing to lay down, that don't fit their poker hand. Cochran said in the famous O. J. Simpson trail, "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit!" This is sound advice for poker players. If you are chasing a poker hand because you have good hole cards and the flop doesn't seem to fit any of your hopes, lay it down. It's time to quit. This is particularly true if other players like the flop. Remember, "No holdem" players may already have outdrawn your good poker cards. That's what they mean by, "Any two cards can win." It's best to remind yourself that the converse is true, "Any two cards can lose!"
Dirty traps. The traps designed by cheats are called Dirty Traps. Some of the player’s only skills are in how to cheat honest players, just as there are illegal ways of trapping fish, deer, etc.; the most dramatic of these dirty traps are the actions of poker teams. If two players are signaling and betting or raising to control the poker table, they can do a lot of damage. Players who use dirty traps to win are players who can't win based on their playing skills. With this in mind, look for the poker players who do their worst when alone and seem to do so much better when their friends are around. Check out yourself!http://www.enteratlantis.com |
