The benefits are many for having a roommates in Mumbai; however, there are its drawbacks too. When these drawbacks become acute they result in inconvenient environment while living and at times gets dangerous. But, when there is a roommate, there is no guarantee having privacy to himself while he is at home.   Another drawback to have a roommate is household responsibilities distribution which is not equal. Roommates should should discuss about the household responsibilities like cleaning of kitchen, study area, but, the chance are that one roommate may not be willing to do his share of responsibilities. In this situation there is possibility of conflict and disputes with the roommates which can make the living conditions very uncomfortable.   Choose a Flexible Roommate   While choosing a roommate, the renter must be careful to select a flexible roommate. Now we know how conflicts take place when one roommate is not willing to do his duties. The most important issue is entertainment. If one roommate has guests often in the house, it creates problems in case the other roommate is not comfortable.   Even the bed -timings can create problems. If one roommate wakes up at 5 am and goes to bed at 9 pm it can be inconvenient to other roommate who prefers to stay up late and not wake up till 9:00 am. In such cases it can lead to hot arguments and might affect one's health, job, and social life.   Roommates in Mumbai and Rental Agreement   Finally, make sure to include roommates in rental agreement. This helps in protecting all the roommates and also stops one roommate from asking another to leave without any reason. The rental agreement also ensures each one's right to live in the rented property. Having each roommates' names on agreement also prevent roommates from not paying on time and regularly. Agreement will also account for being legally responsible in case of non-payment of the rent.   Mumbai is quite a big city so such agreements in fact should be compulsory to avoid disputes in future and live with a peace of mind. Living with roommates in Mumbai should be carefully planned.
